A Great Project Delivered in Liepāja
Year 2022 EcoHeat Technologies (Steel Pro) delivered another biomass
driven container type energy plant with a comprehensive fuel supply system. This time – in Liepāja, Karosta. The facility will deliver energy for district heating in autumn 2022.
Since, in procurement we’ve been awarded with the contract, we are incredibly happy to have “LIEPĀJAS ENERĢIJA” as our customer.
The total capacity of the plant is 1,9 MW. Primary fuel – wood chips. The modular non-operator heating plant consists of two boiler container modules and a wood chip storage container, a fuel chain conveyor, and an ash container.
The boiler container module contains a boiler, heating water system (with pumps, heat exchanger, etc.), ID fan, electrical power and automation control, and management equipment, as well as a chimney mounted on the outside of the container. The furnace discharge port is connected to the ash conveyor and container to remove ash from the boiler.
The fuel storage is a container construction equipped with a moving floor and hydraulic drive; the fuel is transferred from the repository to the boiler by a chain conveyor.
Boiler house also includes a video surveillance system designed to control the operation of the boiler house. This way, it’s easier to ensure continuous remote control and monitoring. It is necessary to monitor the operation of all equipment, such as pumps, fuel supply system, the combustion process in the furnace, and control of other functions.
“The opening of this boiler house complex is a confirmation that, by successfully cooperating with the commercial sector, it is possible to quickly find far-sighted solutions in local governments to combat the rise in energy prices. It is commendable that entrepreneurs in the regions are already taking action to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, thus increasing green energy capacities and promoting energy independence throughout the country, ”said Arturs Toms Plešs, Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development.
